💙❤️ Marathon season has well and truly kicked off now although there are still lots of shorter races for those less inclined to the 26.2-mile distance 😅 💙❤️ When all the training is done it's left to how you're feeling on the day and there must've been something in the air in Berlin 🇩🇪 on Sunday 🎉 💙❤️ Autumn 🍁 has arrived but our members are still on hot form 🔥 💙❤️ Wow there's been some super racing, trophy winning, PB smashing, course record breaking performances in the last week !! 💙❤️ Wow there's been some super racing, trophy winning, PB smashing, course record breaking performances in the last week !! 💙❤️ Meteorologically speaking Summer's over for another year and it's time to look ahead to those Autumn Marathons 😅 💙❤️ Another summer of evening races is pretty much done and dusted with a fair few runners deep in Autumn Marathon training 😅 💙❤️ Barnsley AC just missed out on promotion from the Northern Track and Field League Division East 2 finishing 3rd overall despite a 2nd place behind a strong Hallamshire Harriers team in the final match. Under17 Vanessa Ndambakuwa set a new PB in the 400m (64.4). Under20 Emily Richardson got new PBs for 800m (2:31.9) and jumped 1.3m in the High Jump. There were PBs for Daisy Jo Marley (3.95m) and Neve Simmons (3.35m) in Long Jump. Daisy Jo also ran a PB in 100m hurdles finishing in 22.1. On the Men's side, Chris Gillott set new PBs in 100m (12.4), 200m (24.8) and 1500m (4:16.9). Joe Cox also ran a PB in 1500m with 4:55.5 while Tony Richards-Vardy ran his 100m best finishing in 16.2. In the Field, Caroline Spensley threw a new PB in shot putt with 5.35m and Sarah Burton threw 14.16m for a PB in Javelin. There were also great performances from Amelie Spicer, Evie Donaldson, Ray Archer, Dominic Brennan, Vicky Shaw and Gail Colville including some dubious Steeplechasing 🤣 Well done everyone who has competed over any of the 4 matches 👏 💙❤️ The nights are starting to draw in and the evening races will be coming to an end soon but our members are still enjoying success !! 💙❤️ Some fantastic achievements this week by our members !!
